Cultural Activities Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Oaxacan cultural guest experiences — Monte Albán dawn tours, mezcal palenque visits, artisan village circuit (Teotitlán del Valle textiles, San Bartolo Coyotepec black clay, Arrazola wood carvings), Hierve el Agua excursions
• Arrange in-hotel cultural programming — mole cooking classes, natural dye workshops, mezcal masterclasses, chocolate production demonstrations
• Partner with Oaxacan artisans, mezcal producers, and cultural guides
• Coordinate festival season programming — Día de los Muertos (October/November), Guelaguetza (July), Noche de Rábanos (December)
• Book market tours — Mercado Benito Juárez, Mercado 20 de Noviembre, Tlacolula weekly market
• Promote cultural programming to arriving guests with genuine contextual knowledge

Requirements

• 2–4 years cultural tourism or hospitality coordination experience
• Deep Oaxaca cultural knowledge — mezcal production, Zapotec craft traditions, archaeological sites, festival calendar
• Excellent English — essential in Oaxaca's international boutique hotel market
• Genuine personal passion for Oaxacan culture, food, and artisan heritage
