Privacy Notice

The party responsible for processing your personal data is:

Depending on how you use Vacanta, we may process the following categories of data:

• Identification and contact: name, year of birth, email address, phone number, and city or area of interest.
• Employment data: CV/résumé, experience, the role you’re interested in, and any information you choose to include in your application.
• Employer data: for hotels, restaurants and businesses: business email, contact name, phone, property type, city, and vacancies.
• Sensitive data (drivers only): for transport roles we may request an official ID or driver’s licence to verify your identity. See section 4.
• Technical data: basic usage data required to run the site securely. See section 8.

Primary purposes (necessary to provide the service):

• Receive, review and manage your application or request.
• Build shortlists and connect workers with suitable employers.
• Communicate with you about your application status (by email and WhatsApp).
• Verify the identity of drivers where applicable.
• Prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the platform secure.

Secondary purposes (optional; you may opt out without affecting the service):

• Send you notices about new vacancies that may interest you.
• Improve and personalise our services.

If you don’t want us to process your data for the secondary purposes, you can tell us at any time by writing to privacidad@vacanta.mx. Your refusal will not be a reason to deny you the service.

For certain transport roles we may ask you for an official ID or driver’s licence. These documents are treated as sensitive data and receive reinforced protection:

• They are stored in a private, isolated, encrypted space with restricted access.
• They are permanently deleted within a maximum of 72 hours after verification.
• Their processing requires your express consent, which you give when you upload the document.

Your data is never sold. We share it only in the following cases:

• With employers: a worker’s contact details are only shared with an employer when there is a genuine match and after the relevant placement agreement is signed. Your phone number is never visible to an employer before that point.
• With service providers (processors): we use providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions: hosting and database, file storage, and email delivery. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Where legally required: when required by a competent authority in accordance with the law.

Your data is hosted on servers located in the European Union (Ireland), which offers a recognised level of protection. This international transfer is necessary to provide the service.

You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if inaccurate, Cancel it when you believe it is no longer needed, and Object to its processing (the “ARCO” rights). You may also withdraw any consent you have given us.

To exercise them, write to privacidad@vacanta.mx, stating your name, the data concerned, and a copy of ID proving your identity. We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days and, where appropriate, give effect to the request within the following 15 business days.

As the controller is established in the United Kingdom, under the GDPR you also have equivalent rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, exercisable at the same contact address.

You can ask us to limit the use or disclosure of your data by writing to privacidad@vacanta.mx. If you stop using Vacanta, you can request deletion of your profile at any time.

Vacanta uses a minimal number of strictly necessary cookies to run the site and, when you log in, to keep your session secure. We do not use invasive advertising cookies and we do not sell browsing data.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics (a Google service) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Google acts as a processor and sets measurement cookies. These cookies are only loaded if you accept them in the consent banner shown on your first visit: if you decline or make no choice, no Google cookie is installed. You can change your decision at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which will show the banner again.

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect legal or service changes. The current version will always be published on this page, with its update date. Significant changes will be communicated through available means.

If you believe your right to data protection has been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with the competent Mexican data protection authority.
