Eco-Activities & Cultural Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and promote eco-cultural activity portfolio — cenote tours, Mayan ruin visits, biosphere boat tours, mangrove kayaking
• Partner with Riviera Maya's best eco-tour operators
• Lead or accompany small group cultural and nature experiences
• Provide Mayan cultural context and reef ecology education during activities
• Handle bookings, waivers, and logistics for all eco-activities
• Promote sustainable tourism practices through programming

Requirements

• 2–3 years eco-tourism or cultural tourism coordination
• Deep cenote and Riviera Maya ecological knowledge
• Excellent English; French or Italian an advantage
• Personal eco-values alignment
• First aid certification preferred

Work environment

Eco-hotel activities in Playa del Carmen. Coordinating cenote and ruins tours, snorkeling trips, and mangrove kayak experiences is one of the more rewarding activities coordination roles in Mexico.

About the role

The educator who makes nature memorable. A European guest who visits a cenote and simply swims in it has had a nice experience. The same guest who visited a cenote with an activities coordinator who explained that they are looking at a 65-million-year-old cave system carved by the same asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs — filled by underground rivers that the Maya considered sacred portals — has had an unforgettable one.
