Beach Attendant

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain Banderas Bay beachfront — lounge chairs, umbrellas, towel service, beach cleanliness
• Welcome guests and manage beach area assignments
• Assist with water sport equipment — boogie boards, kayaks, paddleboards, beach volleyball
• Monitor Pacific wave conditions and communicate safety to guests — PV's Pacific surf requires active safety awareness
• Coordinate whale watching season activity (December–March) — beach-level view support, binoculars, whale spotting coordination
• Maintain beach cleanliness and guest comfort throughout shift

Requirements

• Physical fitness for outdoor Pacific coast work — PV humidity and heat require stamina
• Pacific surf and ocean safety awareness — different from Caribbean calm water environments
• Friendly, attentive service orientation
• Basic English — PV's high repeat-visitor North American base builds long-term staff relationships
• Ability to swim

Banderas Bay beachfront in Puerto Vallarta. Working along one of Mexico's most scenic Pacific bays — with the Sierra Madre rising behind the city, the Marietas Islands visible in the distance, and the possibility of humpback whales breaching offshore December through March — is a genuinely extraordinary natural working environment.

About the role

The familiar face on the beach guests return to every year. Puerto Vallarta has an unusually high proportion of repeat visitors — couples who have been coming for 10 or 20 years, Canadian snowbirds who spend every winter in the same resort, families with three generations who have used the same beach attendant for a decade. The PV beach attendant who builds those relationships — who remembers the returning couple's favorite lounge spot, who calls the grandmother by name — is providing a continuity of welcome that is genuinely irreplaceable.
