Bay & Eco-Tour Guide

Responsibilities

• Lead Banderas Bay excursions — whale watching (December–March), Marietas Islands snorkeling, sailing tours, dolphin watching, Los Arcos snorkeling
• Provide marine ecology context — humpback whale migration, manta ray behavior, reef fish identification
• Lead jungle and adventure activities — canopy tours, hiking, ATV excursions above Puerto Vallarta
• Manage group logistics — boat transport, equipment, safety briefings, timing
• Communicate in English with North American tourist groups
• Coordinate with resort activities desk on group bookings

Requirements

• SECTUR guide certification or in progress
• Deep Banderas Bay and Sierra Madre Occidental area knowledge
• Water safety certification for marine excursions
• Excellent English
• Genuine passion for Puerto Vallarta's natural environment

Work environment

About the role

The storyteller of the bay. A PV tourist on a whale watching boat — who sees their first humpback breach 30 meters away — is experiencing something beyond words. The guide who, in that moment of stunned silence, says quietly "she has been coming to this bay every December for 14 years, and so have we" — has just made one of the most unforgettable statements of the guest's entire trip.
