Payroll Coordinator

Large all-inclusive resort, Cancún Hotel Zone

Cancún

MXN 14,000 – 20,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly

Responsibilities

  • Execute the biweekly payroll for 800–2,500 resort employees: manage the payroll cycle for a large Cancún all-inclusive resort from attendance data collection through net payment calculation, payroll review, approval routing, and bank transfer execution — with accuracy at every step, because a payroll error at this scale affects hundreds of workers simultaneously and is a labor relations risk
  • Calculate and report IMSS employee and employer contributions: process the biweekly IMSS deductions, calculate the employer's IMSS quota by risk segment (RT classification), manage the SUA monthly payment cycle, and maintain the IMSS IDSE employer compliance portal records to the standard required by IMSS Quintana Roo zone
  • Administer the collective agreement payroll components: the Cancún all-inclusive resort's workforce is often partially or fully organized under a CTM or CROC collective agreement — the payroll coordinator applies the agreement's salary tabulators, seniority increments, shift differential rates, and the specific benefit structures that the contract specifies
  • Manage the annual aguinaldo, vacation premium, and PTU calculation cycle: these are Mexico's three most commercially significant annual payroll events — the payroll coordinator calculates each with precision, communicates the payment timeline to the workforce, and coordinates the execution with the finance and treasury team
  • Process IMSS altas and bajas for the resort's high-volume seasonal workforce movements: Cancún's high-turnover hospitality market creates significant IMSS movement volume — the payroll coordinator processes each alta and baja within the 5-business-day LFT compliance window
  • Maintain payroll records in SAT CFDI-compliant format: each employee's digital payslip (CFDI de nómina) must be timbrado (stamped) through an authorized PAC and delivered to the employee on payday — the payroll coordinator manages this digital payroll compliance requirement

Requirements

  • Hotel or high-volume payroll coordination experience in Mexico
  • IMSS SUA and IDSE portal competency
  • CFDI de nómina (payroll digital invoice) and SAT compliance
  • Collective agreement payroll management
  • Excel or payroll software proficiency (CONTPAQi Nóminas, ADP, or Aspel NOI preferred)

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Staff meals
  • Fixed monthly salary
  • Professional development in hospitality payroll

Work environment

Payroll coordinator at a Cancún large all-inclusive resort. High-volume biweekly payroll execution, IMSS SUA management, and CFDI de nómina compliance for one of Mexico's largest hotel employer contexts.

About the role

The Cancún all-inclusive resort payroll coordinator who executes the biweekly payroll for 1,800 employees on Thursday, sends the bank file at 9:00 AM, receives confirmation that 1,800 accounts received their payment by 12:00 PM, and closes the cycle without a single error — has done the financial function that 1,800 workers and their families depend on arriving on time, every two weeks, without exception. The payroll coordinator who delivers this consistently for 5 years has delivered the equivalent of 130 consecutive payroll cycles without a critical error. That operational consistency is not routine. It is professional excellence sustained over time.
