Hotel Accountant & Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting and payroll function for a Mérida colonial boutique or four-star hotel (50–200 employees): as the primary accounting professional for the property, execute the biweekly payroll with CFDI de nómina compliance, manage the IMSS Yucatán zone obligations, produce the monthly AP/AR accounting, and support the Finance Manager or owner on the monthly close and the SAT fiscal compliance calendar
• Execute biweekly payroll for the Mérida hotel workforce: the Mérida hotel's workforce is significantly drawn from Yucatán's Maya-heritage communities — the payroll is processed with the cultural respect and mathematical precision that the workforce's trust in the employer depends on; the aguinaldo, vacation premium, and PTU calculations are communicated clearly and on the dates committed
• Manage IMSS Yucatán zone compliance: process SUA monthly payments, manage IMSS IDSE alta/baja for the hotel's workforce, manage the RT risk classification, and maintain the Registro Patronal documentation to the IMSS Yucatán delegación's inspection standards
• Process Yucatán state hotel tax: calculate the monthly Impuesto sobre Hospedaje Yucatán on lodging revenue, file the state tax declaration with the Yucatán state treasury, and account for the hotel tax in the revenue P&L as required
• Manage the European OTA revenue accounting: Mérida's French and European OTA market (Booking.com, Expedia, and regional European platforms) generates significant revenue in EUR that is settled in MXN after OTA commission deduction — the accountant manages the OTA revenue reconciliation, the commission accounting, and the EUR/MXN exchange rate accounting that the European booking volume creates
• Coordinate the annual Día de Muertos and Hanal Pixán cultural event accounting: Mérida's Hanal Pixán (Yucatán Day of the Dead) generates significant F&B and event revenue — the accountant manages the event billing, the temporary staffing cost accounting, and the post-event reconciliation

Requirements

• Hotel or small-employer accounting experience in Mexico; Yucatán market experience preferred
• IMSS Yucatán zone SUA and IDSE compliance
• SAT CFDI compliance and Yucatán state hotel tax management
• OTA revenue reconciliation with European currency exposure
• CONTPAQi Nóminas and Contabilidad; English and Spanish bilingual preferred; French awareness an advantage
