Administration & SupportHR Generalist — Recruitment & Labor Relations
Five-star resort, Cancún
Cancún
Fixed monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for non-management positions at a Cancún five-star resort: identify staffing requirements by department, post vacancies, screen candidates, coordinate with department heads on hiring decisions, and manage the onboarding process through the first 90-day probation period
- Develop and maintain the resort's employer brand in the Cancún labor market: Cancún competes aggressively for experienced hospitality workers — the HR generalist manages the resort's presence on OCC and Computrabajo, maintains Glassdoor and employee review platform awareness, and coordinates with the HR Director on the employee value proposition communication
- Handle labor relations with the LFT framework: manage disciplinary processes (acta administrativa procedure, three-strike documentation, and the legal separation process when required), coordinate with the STPS (Secretaría del Trabajo) on any labor inspections, and maintain the resort's IMSS and labor law compliance records
- Execute the resort's collective bargaining agreement management if applicable: large Cancún resorts often operate under a CTM or CROC union contract — the HR generalist applies the contract provisions accurately in all employment decisions and processes
- Coordinate the resort's employee welfare programs: IMSS sick leave management, maternity leave administration, workplace accident reporting to IMSS RT risk segment, and the employee assistance programs the resort provides
- Manage the resort's seasonal staffing cycle: Cancún's high season (December–April) requires a significant temporary workforce increase — the HR generalist plans and executes the seasonal hiring surge 60–90 days in advance

Work environment
HR generalist at a Cancún five-star resort. High-volume recruitment, LFT labor relations management, and seasonal workforce planning in one of Mexico's most active hotel HR environments.
About the role
The Cancún HR generalist who manages the December seasonal hiring surge — who has 80 temporary positions filled and onboarded by November 30 through a combination of OCC postings, Cancún hospitality school partnerships, and a referral bonus program for existing staff — who coordinates 80 IMSS altas in the first week of December without a single processing error — and who has the same 80 employees ready for a baja process in April when the season ends — has managed the staffing infrastructure of a temporary workforce that delivered the property's most commercially important 4 months. The 80 temporary workers never saw the HR process. They just arrived ready to work.
