HR Generalist — Relocation & Benefits

Ultra-luxury resort, Los Cabos corridor

Los Cabos

MXN 18,000 – 25,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + housing allowance

Responsibilities

  • Manage the relocation recruitment program that the Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort depends on: the Baja California Sur domestic labor supply does not provide sufficient qualified hospitality professionals for a luxury resort's needs — the HR generalist manages active recruitment of experienced candidates from Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, CDMX, and Guadalajara, including relocation package coordination (first-month housing, transport subsidy, and settlement support)
  • Manage the property's housing allowance program: Los Cabos housing costs are among the highest in Mexico outside CDMX — the resort's housing allowance (MXN 2,000–3,000/month depending on role) is managed as a compensation benefit component, tracked in the HR system, and processed through payroll
  • Execute the full IMSS and labor law compliance program for 300–800 employees: IMSS alta/baja, RT risk classification management, Infonavit and Fonacot coordination, and the monthly SUA payment for a large premium employer
  • Develop the property's English-language proficiency program: the Los Cabos luxury market requires English-fluent service staff — the HR generalist coordinates the property's language training program, tracks proficiency development, and links language advancement to the compensation review calendar
  • Manage the property's employee wellness program: the Los Cabos resort competes for staff against other ultra-luxury employers by offering comprehensive wellness benefits — medical, dental, and vision program administration; gym access; and the employee meal program quality management
  • Handle labor relations with the LFT framework in a premium employer context: the ultra-luxury resort's disciplinary process is applied with the same LFT precision as any Mexican employer, but the management team's expectation of process quality requires the HR generalist to apply the acta administrativa and separation procedures with legal precision and documentation quality

Requirements

  • HR generalist experience; premium or luxury hospitality employer preferred
  • LFT, IMSS, and relocation management competency
  • English and Spanish bilingual — essential in Los Cabos
  • Relocation and housing benefit administration
  • Language training program coordination

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Housing allowance MXN 2,500/month
  • Staff meals
  • Language and professional development programs
  • Career development in Mexico's highest-compensation and most professionally demanding hospitality HR environment

Work environment

HR generalist at a Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort. Relocation recruitment management, housing benefit administration, and IMSS compliance for a large premium hospitality employer in Mexico's most geographically constrained labor market.

About the role

The Los Cabos HR generalist who recruits a Cancún-trained sommelier for the resort's wine program — who manages the relocation package, coordinates the first-month housing arrangement in San José del Cabo, processes the IMSS alta, and conducts the three-day property orientation — who receives a WhatsApp message from the sommelier 30 days into the role saying "gracias, esto es exactamente lo que buscaba" — has done the complete relocation recruitment cycle that is invisible to the resort's wine program guests but that enabled the sommelier to be on the floor for the first dinner service. The guest experience depends on the HR function. The HR function that executes it well makes the connection impossible to see. That invisibility is the goal.
