MXN 12,000 – 17,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + transport subsidy

Responsibilities

  • Manage the HR function for a Mérida colonial boutique or four-star hotel (60–200 employees): administer the full range of HR operations including IMSS compliance, LFT documentation, payroll input coordination, recruitment, onboarding, and training calendar management in a Yucatán state employer context
  • Manage IMSS Yucatán zone compliance: the IMSS Yucatán delegación has regional submission procedures — the HR generalist manages the property's IMSS alta/baja, SUA payment calendar, and RT classification to a standard that is inspection-ready at all times
  • Coordinate culturally sensitive recruitment for the Mérida hotel workforce: Mérida's Maya-heritage workforce brings distinctive values of community, dignified work, and long-term employer loyalty that are significant assets for a colonial boutique hotel — the HR generalist designs recruitment and onboarding processes that welcome this workforce authentically and with cultural respect
  • Manage the heat season worker wellbeing protocol (April–June): Mérida's extreme heat season is an occupational health concern for outdoor and non-air-conditioned work areas — the HR generalist coordinates the heat safety protocol (hydration stations, outdoor work time limits, shade rotation schedules) with department heads to comply with NOM-030-STPS and protect worker wellbeing
  • Design and deliver the European market guest service training: the Mérida boutique hotel's French and European guest base requires front-of-house staff with cultural and communication competency beyond English — the HR generalist coordinates the European cultural hospitality training content and manages the French language development program for eligible staff
  • Coordinate the Distintivo H food safety certification training and the STPS Yucatán compliance calendar

Requirements

  • HR generalist and training coordination experience; Yucatán state employer or hotel preferred
  • LFT and IMSS Yucatán compliance competency
  • Cultural competency with Yucatán's Maya-heritage workforce
  • Spanish native; English functional; French awareness an advantage
  • Heat season occupational health protocol management

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Transport subsidy MXN 500/month
  • Staff meals
  • Subsidized professional development courses
  • Career development in Mérida's growing hotel and archaeological tourism market

Work environment

HR generalist and training coordinator at a Mérida colonial boutique or four-star hotel. Full-function HR management in Yucatán's distinctive cultural and archaeological tourism market with Maya-heritage workforce respect, heat season occupational protocols, and a European cultural tourism guest profile.

About the role

The Mérida HR generalist who onboards a new cohort of front-of-house staff in March — who includes the property's Chichén Itzá timing knowledge in the service training module (not just "it's 2 hours away" but why arriving before 8 AM changes the experience entirely, what Kukulcán means, why the equinox weekend requires triple advance booking), who explains the French guest's expectations with specific examples, who walks through the heat safety protocol with the outdoor maintenance team before the April heat arrives — has done the training investment that makes the Mérida hotel staff a genuine extension of Yucatán's cultural richness for the guests who came here to understand it. The guest who asks about Chichén Itzá at breakfast deserves more than a brochure. The team this HR generalist trained can give them a real answer.
