MXN 14,000 – 19,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Responsibilities

  • Manage the HR and training function for a Puerto Vallarta boutique hotel (40–120 employees): combine the HR administrative function with ownership of the property's training and development calendar in a single-person or small-team HR structure
  • Design and deliver the property's Jalisco cultural hospitality training for front-of-house staff: the boutique PVR hotel's service character should reflect Jalisco's genuine hospitality warmth — the training coordinator develops onboarding content that introduces new staff to the property's guest experience philosophy through the lens of the Tapatío and Vallartense cultural context
  • Manage the Distintivo H food safety certification training calendar: coordinate with the Jalisco-certified provider, schedule the food handler training for all F&B staff, and maintain the annual recertification documentation
  • Coordinate the English language training program for the boutique hotel's guest-facing staff: in a boutique PVR hotel, the guest relations quality directly reflects the team's language competency — the training coordinator manages the weekly English session schedule and tracks the team's development
  • Handle HR administration including IMSS, Infonavit, and LFT compliance for the boutique employer scale
  • Coordinate the resort's whale watching season cultural briefing for all staff: the whale watching season is the property's most powerful guest experience product December–March — the training coordinator ensures that every guest-facing team member knows the basic humpback whale biology, viewing protocols, and booking process to communicate this to guests authentically

Work environment

Training coordinator and HR specialist at a Puerto Vallarta boutique hotel. Integrated HR and employee development management with Jalisco cultural hospitality training and whale watching season staff preparation.

About the role

The PVR boutique hotel training coordinator who delivers the December whale watching season briefing to the front-of-house team — who doesn't read from a script, who shows a 3-minute clip of a humpback breach recorded in Banderas Bay, who explains the difference in behavior between a mother with a calf and a male displaying, who describes exactly what the tour departure process looks like — who by the end has a team that can answer guest whale watching questions with genuine knowledge rather than a brochure sentence — has just made the property's most commercially important seasonal product accessible to every guest-facing employee. The guest who asks about whale watching at breakfast deserves more than "talk to the concierge." The PVR team that was briefed by this coordinator can give them that.
