Administration & SupportHR & Operations Administrator
Boutique eco-luxury or wellness property, Tulum
Tulum
Fixed monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete HR function for a Tulum boutique eco-property: in a team of 25–70 employees, the HR administrator manages the full spectrum — recruitment, onboarding, IMSS compliance, payroll coordination, labor relations, and the operational administration that supports the property's daily function
- Manage the work permit and immigration compliance for any international staff: Tulum boutique properties occasionally employ international yoga instructors, wellness practitioners, or culinary professionals on Mexican work visas (FM3 or similar) — the HR administrator coordinates with the property's immigration attorney to maintain compliance
- Process IMSS obligations with the connectivity limitations of the Tulum beach road: IMSS IDSE portal access and SUA payment processing sometimes face connectivity challenges in Tulum's beach zone — the HR administrator manages the submission schedule to ensure payments are processed within the legal deadlines regardless of connectivity
- Execute the eco-property's values-based recruitment: Tulum eco-property candidates must demonstrate genuine ecological and wellness alignment through the recruitment process — the HR administrator designs the interview process to assess these competencies alongside the technical qualifications
- Manage the seasonal workforce adjustment: the Tulum boutique property scales staffing significantly between high season (November–April) and low season (June–September) — the HR administrator manages this cycle within LFT temporary contract parameters
- Coordinate the property's wellness programming access for staff: one of the most meaningful non-monetary benefits at a Tulum wellness property is staff access to yoga classes, meditation sessions, and the healing ceremonies that are the property's commercial product — the HR administrator manages the staff access schedule for these benefits
Requirements
- HR generalist experience; small employer or boutique hospitality environment preferred
- Full LFT, IMSS, and Infonavit compliance knowledge
- English and Spanish bilingual for the Tulum international staff and management community
- Work permit and immigration compliance awareness
- Ecological values alignment
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Housing support in Tulum (meaningful benefit given Tulum's housing market)
- Staff meals from the property's kitchen
- Access to property wellness programming
- Fixed monthly salary
Work environment
HR and operations administrator at a Tulum boutique eco-luxury or wellness property. Full-spectrum solo HR management in a small, values-aligned team environment with IMSS connectivity and international staff compliance challenges specific to the Tulum market.
About the role
The Tulum HR administrator who manages the visa renewal for the Swiss yoga instructor who has been with the property for 3 years — who coordinates with the immigration attorney in Cancún, who tracks the renewal timeline 90 days out, who ensures the FM3 extension is filed before the expiry date — and who then manages the IMSS submission from the beach road property on the Friday afternoon before the IDSE portal deadline — has done the compliance work in an environment that makes administrative precision harder than in an urban office. The property's ability to retain its most valued staff depends on this precision being achieved consistently regardless of connectivity, distance, and deadline pressure.
