About the role
The Guadalajara hotel IT coordinator who sets up the literary agent's meeting room for the FIL Thursday morning publishing deal session — who confirms the ClickShare is working with a MacBook Pro and a Windows laptop simultaneously, who tests the video conferencing for the Frankfurt book fair agent joining by Zoom, who makes sure the room's PA system is configured for the 3-person panel discussion in the afternoon — who is back in the IT office by 8:55 AM for the 9:00 AM FIL start, radio on and available — has set up the meeting room technology that will enable a significant publishing contract to be signed between a Mexican author and a European publisher during the FIL's most commercially active week. The book deal that happens in that room is made possible by the technology setup that finished 5 minutes before the meeting started.
