IT Manager

Ultra-luxury resort or hotel group, Los Cabos

Los Cabos

MXN 45,000 – 68,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + housing allowance + annual performance bonus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete IT function for a Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort or hotel group: manage an IT team of 3–8 professionals, own the IT budget (typically USD 500K–2M annually for an ultra-luxury resort), develop the 3-year technology investment roadmap, and report to the General Manager and international ownership/management company on all technology strategy and performance matters
  • Own the resort's technology strategy in alignment with the international brand standard: Los Cabos ultra-luxury resorts often operate under international luxury brand affiliation (Rosewood, Four Seasons, Aman, One&Only) — the IT Manager implements the brand's global technology standards while adapting them to the Baja California Sur infrastructure context
  • Manage the resort's data security and privacy program: the ultra-luxury resort collects and processes extensive guest profile data for the personalized service program — the IT Manager develops the data protection policy, manages the cybersecurity program, and ensures compliance with Mexican data protection law (LFPDPPP) and any applicable international standard (GDPR for European guests)
  • Lead the resort's technology vendor management: manage 20–40 technology vendor relationships including PMS, POS, revenue management, keycard, CCTV, telephony, in-room entertainment, digital concierge, and the integration middleware that connects them — the IT Manager negotiates vendor contracts, manages the annual maintenance budget, and drives vendor performance reviews
  • Develop and manage the resort's IT disaster recovery program: a Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort cannot afford a multi-hour technology outage during peak season — the IT Manager designs the disaster recovery architecture, manages the backup infrastructure, and tests the recovery procedures quarterly
  • Build and develop the Los Cabos IT team: in a market with limited technology talent supply, the IT Manager's ability to develop internal talent and retain the team is the function's most critical long-term challenge

Requirements

  • IT Manager experience at a luxury hotel or comparable enterprise organization
  • International luxury brand technology standard implementation
  • Cybersecurity, LFPDPPP data protection, and PCI-DSS management
  • Team leadership and IT budget management at USD 500K+ scale
  • English and Spanish bilingual; CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or equivalent professional certification preferred

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Housing allowance MXN 3,000/month
  • Staff meals
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Career advancement to Regional IT Director and VP Technology

About the role

The Los Cabos IT Manager who presents the technology roadmap at the annual ownership review — who shows the ROI on the Wi-Fi infrastructure upgrade from 3 years ago (guest satisfaction tech scores up 18 points, mobile check-in adoption at 62%), who presents the 3-year plan including the in-room iPad villa management interface program (USD 380K capital investment with 3.2-year payback through labor cost reduction in villa host response time), and who has the case for the cybersecurity program upgrade that LFPDPPP compliance requires — who leaves the meeting with ownership approval for 85% of the requested budget — has done IT leadership at the strategic level the Los Cabos ultra-luxury market requires. The technology investment the ownership approves today is the guest experience differentiation the property delivers in 2028.
