Administration & SupportIT Systems Administrator
Five-star or ultra-luxury resort, Los Cabos
Los Cabos
Fixed monthly + housing allowance
Responsibilities
- Manage the IT systems administration for a Los Cabos five-star or ultra-luxury resort: as a senior IT individual contributor or team lead, manage the resort's network infrastructure, server environment, PMS and integration stack, guest Wi-Fi, keycard, CCTV, digital signage, in-room entertainment, and the full technology support function for a property where the technology guest experience is as closely scrutinized as the F&B and accommodation product
- Manage the resort's network infrastructure with ultra-luxury performance standards: the Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort's guest expects network performance at the standard of a Condé Nast Traveler Top 10 property — the IT administrator manages the high-performance Wi-Fi infrastructure (Cisco Meraki or Aruba enterprise-grade), the network segmentation (guest VLAN, staff VLAN, IoT device VLAN, PCI-scoped cardholder data environment), and the 24/7 monitoring that identifies performance degradation before guests experience it
- Maintain the resort's in-room technology program: the Los Cabos ultra-luxury resort's in-room technology (smart TV with casting capability, automated room control integration with lighting and air conditioning, iPad villa management interface, in-room Wi-Fi access point for high-throughput coverage) requires a dedicated IT administration function to maintain and support
- Manage the PCI-DSS compliance program: the resort processes significant volumes of luxury guest payment card data — the IT administrator manages the network segmentation, the point-to-point encryption on all POS systems, the quarterly vulnerability scanning, and the annual PCI-DSS Self-Assessment Questionnaire
- Maintain the resort's server and cloud infrastructure: manage the on-premises server environment (virtualized with VMware or Hyper-V), the backup and disaster recovery program, and the integration between on-premises and cloud-hosted applications (cloud PMS, cloud revenue management system)
- Manage the Los Cabos environmental challenges to IT hardware: the extreme UV, the heat, and the hard water's impact on cooling systems requires a proactive hardware maintenance approach — the IT administrator manages the server room environment monitoring (temperature, humidity, power quality) and the preventive maintenance schedule that extends hardware life in Baja's demanding physical environment

- Enterprise network management (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, or equivalent)

Work environment
IT systems administrator at a Los Cabos five-star or ultra-luxury resort. Enterprise network management, PCI-DSS compliance, in-room technology program, and environmental hardware maintenance in Mexico's highest-ADR and most technically demanding hotel IT environment.
About the role
The Los Cabos IT administrator who manages the BISBEE's Black & Blue tournament week — the highest-occupancy week of the year, 800 guests, fishing tournament participants who need reliable cellular Wi-Fi calling from the marina, VIP sport fishing vessels connecting to the resort's Wi-Fi from the dock, 40 concurrent streaming sessions from the in-room casting system on a Saturday night — who has pre-positioned the network for this demand peak in September, who monitors the Wi-Fi dashboard every 4 hours during the week, who resolves a VIP villa access point restart at 11 PM on Thursday without the villa guest experiencing more than a 90-second reconnection — has managed the network performance for the resort's most commercially critical week without a visible incident. The BISBEE's week is also the week when the sport fishing community talks, and the resort's reputation for technology reliability or unreliability travels with them.
