Administration & SupportIT Systems Coordinator
Resort hotel, Marina Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta
Fixed monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage the IT systems function for a Puerto Vallarta resort hotel: as the lead IT professional (or sole IT professional for a mid-scale property), manage the network infrastructure, PMS support, POS support, guest Wi-Fi, IP phone system, keycard door locks, CCTV, and the administrative systems for a property with 150–500 rooms and 200–600 staff
- Plan and execute the whale watching season technology preparation: the December peak arrival week and the March whale watching season close are the resort's two most technology-intensive periods — the IT coordinator performs a full technology stress test in November (Wi-Fi capacity at 100% occupancy, PMS concurrent user test, POS peak throughput validation) and resolves any identified weaknesses before December 1
- Manage the resort's PMS system and integrations: Opera or equivalent PMS as the central guest management system — the IT coordinator manages user accounts and permissions, the PMS-to-accounting interface, the PMS channel manager API, and the PMS reports that the Reservations, Finance, and GM teams require in the standard formats and on the scheduled frequency
- Provide IT support for the resort's digital marketing and revenue management tools: the Revenue Manager's rate management system (IDeaS, Duetto, or equivalent) and the Digital Marketing team's social media and email tools are IT-supported systems — the IT coordinator manages user access, the tool integrations, and any technical issues that affect the commercial team's productivity
- Maintain the resort's phone system for whale watching tour coordination: the December–March whale watching season requires the resort's activity desk and reception to manage a high volume of tour booking calls — the IT coordinator ensures the IP-PBX is configured for the peak call volume and that the auto-attendant scripts are updated for the whale watching season messaging
- Manage the resort's IT vendor relationships in Guadalajara and Vallarta: the IT coordinator manages the technology vendor base (network hardware vendor, PMS vendor, telephony vendor) and coordinates on-site service visits, remote support sessions, and warranty replacements
Requirements
- IT systems coordinator or administrator experience; hotel or resort preferred
- Hotel PMS administration (Opera, Cloudbeds, or equivalent)

- IP telephony system management
- Spanish native; English functional for vendor and international management communication
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Staff meals

Work environment
IT systems coordinator at a Puerto Vallarta resort hotel. Full-scope hospitality technology management with whale watching season capacity planning, PMS administration, and vendor coordination in PVR's active resort hotel technology environment.
About the role
The PVR resort IT coordinator who runs the November technology stress test on the last Sunday before the whale watching season — who simulates 100% occupancy Wi-Fi load on the test bench, who identifies that the pool terrace access points are running at 87% capacity utilization under the simulated load, who submits the hardware upgrade request to the IT Manager on Monday, who has 4 additional Wi-Fi access points installed and configured on the pool terrace by November 22 — and who on December 1 when the resort hits 100% occupancy sees the pool terrace Wi-Fi running at 62% utilization under real load — has done the capacity planning that kept the whale watching season's peak technology demand inside the network's headroom. The December guest who posts the humpback breach video to Instagram in real time from the pool terrace never knows there was a technology planning meeting about their connectivity on a Sunday in November.
