Administration & SupportStorekeeper / Almacenista
Large hotel or all-inclusive resort, Cancún Hotel Zone
Cancún
Fixed monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage the storeroom operations for a Cancún large hotel or all-inclusive resort: receive all incoming deliveries, verify quantity and quality against purchase orders, organize and maintain the storeroom in the correct temperature-controlled zones (dry storage, walk-in refrigerator, walk-in freezer), and issue goods to departments on authorized requisition
- Execute the goods receipt inspection: every delivery is inspected at the receiving dock — quantity counted, products examined for quality and freshness (especially cold chain perishables), expiry dates checked, and IMSS Quintana Roo food safety standards for temperature at receipt verified before any item enters the storeroom
- Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation: the FIFO discipline prevents product expiry in the storeroom and is particularly critical for the Cancún resort's high-volume perishable stock — the storekeeper enforces FIFO for all categories and investigates any stock that approaches expiry without consumption
- Conduct the weekly and monthly physical inventory count: the storeroom inventory is counted weekly for high-value and perishable categories and monthly for all categories — the storekeeper manages the count process, reconciles the physical count with the inventory system, and reports shrinkage or variance to the Purchasing Manager
- Manage the storeroom's temperature log compliance: cold storage temperatures must be recorded twice daily and maintained within food safety parameters — the storekeeper manages the temperature monitoring, reports any equipment malfunction to engineering, and maintains the temperature log as a food safety compliance document
- Coordinate urgent delivery and emergency stocking for the resort's 24-hour F&B operation
Requirements
- Storeroom or warehouse experience; hotel, food service, or food distribution preferred
- FIFO inventory management
- Cold chain and food safety storage standards
- Physical inventory count and reconciliation
- Basic computer skills for inventory software
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Staff meals
- Fixed monthly salary
- Career development toward Storeroom Supervisor and Purchasing Coordinator
Work environment
Storekeeper at a large Cancún hotel or all-inclusive resort. Goods receipt management, cold storage supervision, FIFO inventory control, and daily physical inventory management for a high-volume Cancún resort F&B and housekeeping supply operation.
About the role
The Cancún resort storekeeper who manages the inventory at 100% occupancy during Semana Santa — who has pre-positioned 40% above the standard par stock for all critical categories in the 10 days before Easter week, who receives 3 simultaneous deliveries on Monday morning, who clears the receiving dock in 4 hours without missing a single FIFO date check, who issues 22 department requisitions before noon — and who closes Friday with zero stockouts across all F&B categories — has managed the storeroom function during the highest-demand week of the Mexican domestic tourism calendar. The Semana Santa stockout that doesn't happen because the storekeeper prepared correctly is the storekeeper's most commercially valuable contribution of the year.
