Purchasing Coordinator

Four-star or five-star hotel, Guadalajara

Guadalajara

MXN 15,000 – 22,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + annual cost savings recognition

Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchasing function for a Guadalajara four-star or five-star hotel: own the daily and weekly purchasing cycle, manage the Jalisco regional supplier relationships, process purchase orders, coordinate deliveries, and maintain the CFDI compliance and three-way match process that the accounts payable team requires
  • Develop the hotel's Jalisco regional supplier program: Guadalajara's purchasing proximity to Jalisco's food production centers (Los Altos cheese, Tequila Valley spirits, Jalisco highlands produce) gives the purchasing coordinator the opportunity to build direct producer relationships that deliver better quality and price than distributor supply — the coordinator actively develops this regional sourcing program
  • Manage the FIL and Expo Guadalajara event purchasing: the hotel's MICE event calendar creates purchasing challenges that require advance planning — sourcing the artisanal product program (Jalisco cheeses, mezcal selection, fresh flowers from the Guadalajara wholesale flower market) for the November FIL literary gala, managing the corporate event volume for Expo Guadalajara conventions
  • Coordinate the hotel's beverage purchasing and Jalisco IEPS compliance: spirits purchasing in Jalisco requires IEPS documentation for artisanal tequila and mezcal — the purchasing coordinator manages the IEPS compliance for the hotel's agave spirits purchasing from direct producers
  • Manage supplier performance monitoring and the annual supplier qualification review: ensure the approved supplier list remains current, that supplier CFDI compliance is maintained, and that product quality is consistently meeting the hotel's specification
  • Support the Finance Manager on the monthly food cost analysis by providing purchasing price variance and category spend reports

Requirements

  • Purchasing coordination experience; hotel or Jalisco food service employer preferred
  • Jalisco regional supplier development (Los Altos, Tequila Valley, Mercado de Abastos)
  • Jalisco IEPS spirits tax documentation compliance
  • SAT CFDI compliance management
  • English and Spanish bilingual preferred; Expo Guadalajara and FIL event purchasing experience valued

Benefits

  • IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
  • Staff meals
  • Annual cost savings recognition bonus
  • Career development toward Purchasing Manager

Work environment

Purchasing coordinator at a Guadalajara four-star or five-star hotel. Jalisco regional supplier program development, FIL and MICE event purchasing, artisanal spirits IEPS compliance, and daily procurement management in Guadalajara's food-rich, MICE-driven hotel market.

About the role

The Guadalajara hotel purchasing coordinator who takes the General Manager to the Los Altos cheese producer in Arandas on a September supplier audit — who introduces the GM to the third-generation cheesemaker who produces the property's exclusive queso añejo, who is the person responsible for the relationship that means this artisanal cheese appears on the hotel's cheese board rather than the Walmart distributor brand — has demonstrated that the purchasing function's regional network is the hotel's most authentic product differentiator. The guest who asks "where is this cheese from?" deserves an answer that starts in Los Altos. The purchasing coordinator is the reason the answer exists.
