Purchasing Coordinator & Storekeeper

Responsibilities

• Manage the combined purchasing and storeroom function for a Playa del Carmen boutique eco-property (30–80 rooms): in a small property, the same professional manages supplier relationships, purchase order processing, goods receipt, storeroom organization, and requisition issuing — combining administrative precision with physical storeroom management
• Manage the eco-property's sustainable supplier program: the boutique eco-property's supplier qualification process includes environmental compliance criteria alongside the standard quality and price evaluation — the purchasing coordinator maintains supplier certifications (organic, MSC sustainable fisheries, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance) and audits the supplier list against the property's ecological commitment annually
• Execute the daily fresh food purchasing in coordination with the executive chef: the PDC eco-property's market-driven menu requires daily coordination with the chef on fresh produce requirements, substitutions based on seasonal availability, and the indigenous ingredient sourcing (chaya, achiote, habanero, xcatic chile, plantain) that gives the property's kitchen its Yucatecan identity
• Manage the storeroom with FIFO discipline and zero-waste commitment: the eco-property's zero-waste kitchen goal requires the storekeeper to manage the storeroom rotation so that no product is discarded at expiry — the storeroom's physical organization and the daily requisition management minimize waste at the source
• Process CFDI invoice compliance for all eco-property supplier invoices: many of the boutique eco-property's artisan and small-scale suppliers are small taxpayers (RESICO or RIF regime) — the purchasing coordinator guides these suppliers on CFDI emission and manages the fiscal compliance requirement
• Manage the cenote-proximity chemical compliance: the eco-property's cleaning, pool, and garden chemical purchasing must comply with SEMARNAT's cenote groundwater protection requirements — the purchasing coordinator maintains the approved product list and validates that any new chemical supplier meets the environmental standard
