Administration & SupportStorekeeper / Storeroom Coordinator
Resort hotel, Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta
Fixed monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage the storeroom operations for a Puerto Vallarta resort hotel: receive all incoming deliveries, inspect quantity and quality, organize and maintain the multi-temperature storage areas (dry goods, walk-in refrigerator, walk-in freezer, liquor room), issue goods on authorized departmental requisitions, and maintain the physical inventory at the par stock levels that the resort's daily F&B operation requires
- Manage the daily fresh seafood receiving from the Banderas Bay fishing fleet: the Puerto Vallarta resort's fresh seafood receiving requires morning delivery coordination with the local fishing fleet — the storekeeper is at the receiving dock at 6:30 AM for the fish delivery, inspects the catch for freshness and quality, confirms weight, and clears the dock before the 7:00 AM kitchen preparation start
- Execute FIFO inventory management with whale watching season pre-stocking discipline: the December whale watching season requires an intentional stock build in November for the perishable non-seafood categories — the storekeeper coordinates with the Purchasing Coordinator on the November pre-season stock build and manages the storeroom to handle the increased volume
- Manage the Jalisco artisanal spirits storeroom: the resort's tequila and mezcal bar program is a significant revenue and guest experience product — the spirits storeroom management requires a tequila and mezcal product knowledge that goes beyond the standard liquor inventory skill, including the ability to identify the specific producer and expression for each bottle that the bar team requests
- Conduct weekly physical inventory counts for high-value and perishable categories: produce the variance report for the Purchasing Coordinator and flag any discrepancy or shrinkage for investigation
- Maintain the receiving dock cleanliness, temperature log compliance, and food safety documentation required by COFEPRIS and the PVR health authority
Requirements
- Storeroom or warehouse experience; hotel, food service, or beverage distribution preferred
- Fresh seafood receiving quality assessment
- FIFO inventory management and par stock control
- Jalisco spirits (tequila/mezcal) product knowledge a meaningful advantage
- Food safety and cold chain compliance
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Staff meals
- Fixed monthly salary
- Career development toward Storeroom Supervisor and Purchasing Coordinator
Work environment
Storekeeper at a Puerto Vallarta resort hotel. Fresh seafood receiving from the Banderas Bay fleet, cold storage management, Jalisco spirits storeroom, and whale watching season pre-stocking for PVR's most commercially significant demand period.
About the role
The Puerto Vallarta resort storekeeper who manages the November pre-season stock build — who works with the Purchasing Coordinator to bring the dry goods par stock from 7 days to 14 days by November 30, who reorganizes the dry goods storeroom layout to accommodate the additional stock without compromising FIFO access, who processes 8 major deliveries in the final week of November — and who arrives at December 1 with a storeroom that is ready for 95% occupancy and the season's peak seafood volume — has done the preparation work that lets the resort begin its most commercially important season without a single stockout. The whale watching season doesn't wait for the storeroom to catch up.
