Purchasing & Storeroom Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete purchasing and storeroom function for a Tulum boutique eco-luxury or wellness property: coordinate all supplier deliveries and purchasing within the constraints of the Tulum beach road — scheduling all deliveries outside the tráfico periods (before 9 AM and after 5 PM when the beach road gate allows vehicle access), managing the storage of an adequate par stock to bridge between delivery windows
• Build and maintain the property's direct producer relationships: the Tulum eco-property's sourcing narrative depends on genuine local and organic producer relationships — the purchasing coordinator maintains relationships with Mayan community organic farmers in the Chemuyil and Valladolid areas, the local fisherman's cooperative that supplies the day's catch, and the Yucatán honey and organic spice producers that define the property's kitchen identity
• Manage the storeroom with the SEMARNAT ecological compliance requirement: cleaning products, pool maintenance chemicals, and garden pest control products must comply with SEMARNAT's cenote groundwater protection requirements — the storeroom maintains only approved products and the purchasing coordinator validates new products before ordering
• Execute delivery coordination in Tulum's connectivity-challenged environment: the property's internet connectivity may be limited — the purchasing coordinator maintains a parallel manual system (WhatsApp delivery confirmations, printed delivery schedules, handwritten storeroom logs) as a backup for periods when the property management system is offline
• Manage the property's waste separation protocol at the storeroom level: the Tulum eco-property's zero-waste commitment begins at delivery receipt — all packaging is separated at the receiving dock into the property's recycling categories before entering the storeroom
• Coordinate the wellness retreat consumables purchasing: the wellness property requires specialized consumables (ceremonial-grade cacao, herbal teas, natural essential oils, handmade clay vessels for temazcal ceremonies) that are sourced from Mexico's artisan producer community rather than hotel supply distributors

Requirements

• Purchasing and storeroom experience; eco-hospitality or small employer preferred
• Tulum or Riviera Maya supply chain management
• SEMARNAT chemical compliance awareness
• Direct producer relationship development
• Ecological values alignment; English and Spanish bilingual preferred
