Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables quickly between covers
• Refill water and bread service throughout the meal
• Assist servers with plate carrying during large orders
• Maintain dining room cleanliness during service
• Support servers with any task that keeps service flowing

Requirements

• No experience required — excellent entry point to restaurant service
• Physical pace and stamina
• Eagerness to learn — many bussers advance to server within 6–12 months

The fastest apprenticeship in hospitality. The busser who pays attention — to how servers greet, how they present the menu, how they handle complaints — is in the best classroom available. Most of Cancún's senior servers started as bussers.
