Golf Caddie & Club Operations Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide caddie service across 18 holes at 1,870m altitude: the SMA altitude provides a meaningful ball flight advantage — carries run approximately 6–8% longer than sea level, which the caddie communicates confidently to members unfamiliar with the altitude effect
• Build and maintain member relationships across the bilingual international membership: the SMA golf club requires a caddie who can carry a conversation in Spanish with a Mexican businessman on the front nine and switch seamlessly to English with an American expat on the back nine
• Assist with club operations and pro shop in off-caddie periods: cart management, equipment rentals, scoring system support, and club storage
• Support the course's integration with SMA's event culture: the town's cultural calendar — Festival Internacional de Jazz y Blues, Día de Muertos, Semana Santa — affects club attendance patterns and occasionally the course hosts special events for the town's expat and cultural community
• Assist visiting golfer orientation: SMA occasionally attracts golf travelers connecting a cultural visit to the town with a round at the club — these visitors need efficient, welcoming orientation to the course and town
• Maintain pro shop retail: the small pro shop serves both functional need and the SMA member's appreciation for quality branded merchandise

Requirements

• English and Spanish bilingual — genuinely fluent in both; the SMA expat community communicates primarily in English
• Golf knowledge and caddie experience
• Cultural adaptability — SMA's membership is the most internationally diverse of any Mexican golf club
• Physical fitness for 18-hole bag work at 1,870m altitude
• Warm and genuine personality — the SMA club is a community as much as a golf course
