Golf OperationsGolf Course Groundskeeper — Altitude Turf Specialist
Private members golf club, CDMX
Mexico City
Fixed monthly + transport subsidy
Responsibilities
- Maintain Bent grass or Bermuda fairways and rough on a CDMX private club course at 2,240m elevation: altitude turf management differs from coastal courses in several important ways — the cooler nights suppress Bermuda dormancy trigger points, bent grass greens require closer attention in summer when CDMX afternoon temperatures can exceed 24°C (the stress threshold for creeping bent grass)
- Execute the greens maintenance program: the CDMX private club greens typically run creeping bent grass (a cool-season variety suited to the altitude climate) at 3.0–3.5mm height; daily mowing, rolling, and cup placement; member expectations at this level require stimpmeter consistency of 10.5–11.5 across all 18 greens
- Manage the city's rainy season impact on course operations: CDMX receives concentrated afternoon rainfall June–September; course operations are paused during lightning events, and post-rain assessments determine how quickly play resumes after rainfall
- Conduct terrain maintenance on the volcanic pedregal geology found in some CDMX golf clubs: the lava-rock pedregal foundation presents unique drainage and root zone challenges that require ongoing monitoring and management
- Apply seismic awareness protocols: CDMX experiences periodic seismic events — the maintenance crew's emergency protocol includes stopping equipment operation immediately and moving to open ground during any significant tremor
- Maintain the course's aesthetic garden elements: CDMX private clubs invest heavily in ornamental plantings — rose gardens, flowering borders, and topiary elements that are maintained by the grounds crew alongside agronomic turf work

Work environment
Grounds maintenance at a prestigious CDMX private members golf club. High-altitude turfgrass management with cool-season turf species, volcanic geology, and the presentation standards of Mexico City's most established golf institutions.
About the role
The CDMX golf club groundskeeper who knows which two greens on the course run 0.3 stimpmeter slower than the others in morning dew — who adjusts the cup placements on those greens on competition day to compensate for the speed differential that the member committee hasn't fully acknowledged — is operating with course-specific institutional knowledge that only accumulates over multiple seasons and is genuinely irreplaceable. The private club members play the same course for 20 years. The groundskeeper who has been there that long knows it better than anyone.
