Guest Services & ButlerVilla Host — Boutique Eco-Luxury Property
Boutique eco-luxury resort, Playa del Carmen / Riviera Maya
Playa del Carmen
Fixed monthly + service gratuity
Responsibilities
- Serve as dedicated villa host for a cluster of 4–8 luxury villas on a boutique Riviera Maya property: build genuine relationships with the guests assigned to your villas rather than managing transactional requests — the boutique eco-property expects the villa host to know their guests by the end of day one and to curate the remainder of the stay based on that knowledge
- Execute the property's ecological experience programming: Riviera Maya boutique properties distinguish themselves with curated cenote tours, reef snorkeling, sunrise yoga, traditional Mayan cultural experiences, and mezcal or chocolate tastings — the villa host coordinates access to these experiences per the guest's interests
- Manage villa presentation to boutique luxury standard: daily turndown with handwritten notes, botanical amenity arrangement using the property's garden flowers, outdoor furniture placement for the villa's specific sunset or jungle view orientation
- Provide local knowledge concierge service with personal conviction: the PDC boutique guest does not want a laminated activities menu — they want a person who says "I know the cenote that doesn't have a tour group on Tuesday mornings and it's the most beautiful one — I'll arrange the transport and a guide I trust"
- Coordinate private in-villa dining and special occasion setup: boutique property villa private dining is intimate and personalized; the villa host manages the complete experience from the setup to the service coordination
- Communicate with the culinary team on dietary requirements, food preferences, and special requests noted during guest interaction throughout the stay
Requirements
- Hospitality service experience; boutique or luxury property butler or host experience preferred
- English fluency and at least one European language for the Riviera Maya's European market
- Local Riviera Maya experience knowledge — genuine knowledge of cenotes, reefs, cultural experiences, and quality local restaurants
- Natural warmth and the personality of someone who genuinely enjoys meeting and serving interesting people
- SEMARNAT-aware — the eco-property's environmental commitments extend to the villa host's knowledge and communication about biodegradable products, reef-safe protocols, and the property's water conservation practices
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Staff meals provided
- Uniform and service allowance
- Service gratuity from boutique international clientele
- Career development in the Riviera Maya boutique luxury segment — one of the fastest-growing hospitality markets in Mexico
Work environment
Villa host on a boutique eco-luxury Riviera Maya property. Genuine relationship-based personalized service for sophisticated international guests in an intimate, ecologically conscious luxury environment.
About the role
The PDC villa host who is still at the property at 9pm on a Tuesday — not because they were asked to be — but because the couple in Villa 6 mentioned at dinner that they'd never seen bioluminescent water and the conditions are perfect tonight and they knew exactly which beach access point 15 minutes south has the right bay exposure — is working in a role where genuine local knowledge and genuine care for the guest experience are not separate from the job description. They are the job description.
