Guest Services & ButlerVilla Host — Eco-Luxury Jungle Property
Eco-luxury boutique hotel, Tulum jungle zone
Tulum
Fixed monthly + service gratuity
Responsibilities
- Host an assigned cluster of jungle villas or treehouse suites on a Tulum eco-luxury property: the hosting style in this environment is warmer and less formal than conventional butler service — the Tulum eco-luxury guest responds to authenticity and genuine local knowledge, not to white-glove protocol
- Curate ecological experiences from genuine personal knowledge: cenote swimming, jungle sunrise yoga, SEMARNAT-approved reef snorkeling at the Tulum Marine Reserve, mezcal tasting with local producers, Mayan ruin visits at off-peak hours — the villa host in Tulum is the guest's guide into the destination's genuine offering
- Manage eco-amenity presentation in the villa: the Tulum eco-property uses biodegradable toiletries, locally sourced botanical amenities, reef-safe products, and natural fiber linens — the villa host maintains the villa's presentation with these products and explains the property's ecological choices to interested guests
- Coordinate the property's wellness programming per guest interest: the Tulum guest base is heavily wellness-oriented — yoga retreats, sound healing, temazcal (traditional Mexican sweat lodge) ceremonies, and breathwork sessions are common property offerings that the villa host coordinates access to
- Manage solar-power and generator-dependent service: many Tulum eco-properties run on solar with limited generator backup — the villa host manages the charging schedule for guest devices, explains power limitation windows honestly, and ensures guest comfort within the ecological constraints the property has committed to
- Provide the culinary coordination for in-villa dining from the property's plant-based, locally sourced kitchen: coordinate with the chef team on meal timing, dietary preferences, and special occasion meals
Requirements
- Hospitality experience; eco-luxury or boutique hotel experience preferred
- English fluency; European language an advantage for the Tulum market's significant European segment
- Genuine personal alignment with ecological values — the Tulum guest will quickly sense inauthenticity in an eco-property staff member who doesn't actually care about the environmental context
- Local Tulum cenote and ecological knowledge
- Yoga and wellness culture awareness — the villa host who can recommend a specific type of ceremony or yoga style based on the guest's description of what they're looking for is performing a genuine service
Benefits
- IMSS, aguinaldo, paid vacation + premium
- Housing support in Tulum (critical given Tulum's limited affordable housing near the beach road properties)
- Staff meals from the property's kitchen
- Service gratuity from wellness-oriented international guests
- Access to the property's wellness programming during off-hours
- Career development in Tulum's rapidly growing boutique luxury segment
Work environment
Villa host on a Tulum jungle eco-luxury property. Ecological and wellness-oriented personalized service for internationally sophisticated guests seeking genuine alternative luxury in one of the most talked-about destinations in the world.
About the role
The Tulum villa host who walks a guest to the cenote at the edge of the property at 6am — before the yoga class, before the breakfast service, just the two of them in the early silence, the light coming through the jungle canopy onto the still blue water — and says nothing for the first 5 minutes because the context speaks — has provided an experience that cost no money, required no system, and will be remembered as one of the defining moments of the trip. The knowledge of when to stop talking is a professional skill.
