Work environment
Colonial boutique hotel in Mérida. Working in a restored 19th-century henequen-era mansion — Moorish tile floors, banana trees in the courtyard, wicker ceiling fans — is one of the more distinctive and pleasant hotel environments in Mexico.
About the role
The first warmth of Yucatán. Mérida is 37°C in the afternoon and guests arrive hot, tired, and uncertain about what they've signed up for. The bellboy who opens the door into a cool colonial courtyard, takes the bags, and says "welcome — let me show you to your room and tell you what to do tonight" — has just delivered the quintessential Mérida arrival experience.
