Work environment
Colonial boutique hotel in Oaxaca. Working in Oaxaca's beautifully restored colonial hotels — within walking distance of the best markets, restaurants, and mezcalerías in Mexico — is an extraordinary working environment.
About the role
Cultural ambassador through hospitality. An international food journalist arrives at the front desk of a Jalatlaco boutique hotel having never been to Oaxaca. Everything they discover over the next five days — the restaurants, the mezcal bars, the market vendors, the village weavers — begins with what the front desk agent tells them in the first ten minutes. That conversation is the most influential five hundred words in their Oaxaca experience.
