Night Front Desk Agent

Responsibilities

• Staff front desk overnight at SMA boutique property
• Handle late arrivals from US and Canadian travelers
• Manage overnight guest requests — wedding weekend and holiday guests may have more after-hours needs than typical leisure travelers
• Maintain overnight log for morning handover

Requirements

• 1–2 years front desk or hospitality experience
• English fluency — the primary working language in SMA boutique hotels at all hours
• Calm and professional overnight disposition
• Warmth appropriate to SMA's welcoming boutique character

Work environment

Boutique hotel overnight in San Miguel. The night shift in SMA is quiet by Mexico standards — the city shuts down relatively early and overnight requests are typically low-volume except during wedding and festival weekends.

About the role

The warm overnight presence in one of the world's best small cities. A couple arriving late to their San Miguel boutique hotel — who drove up from Guanajuato airport in the dark and aren't quite sure where they are — is greeted at the door by an agent who checks them in in English, describes the breakfast terrace, tells them the Parroquia bells start at 7am so they'll know what that sound is, and wishes them a good night. That 3-minute interaction has just made the trip start well.
