Responsibilities

• Run plates from kitchen to tables
• Navigate Mérida's restaurant environments — often in colonial mansion dining rooms or open-air courtyards
• Communicate dish descriptions to guests
• Assist servers with table service
• Maintain professional appearance and composure in Mérida's heat

Requirements

• Physical stamina in warm environments — outdoor and partially outdoor dining is common in Mérida
• Basic English for international tourism and expat clientele
• Professional manner
• Knowledge of Yucatecan dish names for guest communication

About the role

Delivering food in a colonial palace. A Mérida colonial mansion converted to a restaurant — high ceilings, arched doorways, interior courtyard — is one of Mexico's most beautiful dining environments. Carrying a plate of cochinita pibil to a table in that courtyard is carrying Yucatán on a plate into one of Yucatán's most beautiful rooms.
