Work environment
Large resort grounds team, responsible for irrigation across multiple garden zones. Technical role within a landscape department where irrigation quality directly affects plant health and resort water costs.
About the role
Irrigation in Cancún's Hotel Zone is not a simple matter — the sandy karst substrate drains fast, the salt winds dry surfaces quickly, and a blocked emitter in a new palm planting can mean a dead tree in two weeks of dry season. The irrigation specialist who catches what others walk past, who notices the section that's running dry before the plants show stress, is the backbone of large-scale resort horticulture.
