Desert Landscape Gardener — Luxury Resort

Responsibilities

• Maintain resort desert landscape: agave, cactus gardens, native Baja shrubs, and feature boulders in design compositions
• Monitor and adjust drip irrigation schedules — hot-season settings (May–October) versus cooler months; track soil moisture in desert substrates
• Apply surface mulch (decomposed granite, gravel) to beds to reduce evaporation and maintain desert aesthetic
• Maintain bougainvillea trellises: trim to structure, manage aggressive seasonal growth after chubasco rains
• Palm care: fan palm and date palm species common in Los Cabos luxury properties; frond trimming, trunk cleaning
• Maintain manicured edge between desert-style planting beds and hardscape — critical for luxury property presentation

Requirements

• Desert or arid-zone landscaping experience preferred
• Drip irrigation operation knowledge
• Physical tolerance for outdoor work at high temperatures (45°C+)
• Careful work habits around specimen agave and cactus — damage takes years to regrow
