Landscape & Nursery Technician — Boutique Resort

Responsibilities

• Maintain boutique resort landscape: curated desert plant compositions with specimen agave, columnar cactus, and flowering desert shrubs
• Operate property nursery: propagate succulents and desert species for replacement stock and seasonal color rotations
• Manage potted container program in guest areas: terracotta and ceramic containers with sculptural desert plants — regular rotation and care
• Source specialty desert plants from Baja nurseries when in-house stock is insufficient
• Execute post-chubasco storm restoration: assess plant damage, replace storm losses, restore landscape presentation
• Coordinate directly with property owner or designer on any aesthetic changes to the landscape composition

Requirements

• Succulent and desert plant propagation knowledge
• Container plant care for luxury boutique property
• Eye for composition and design — boutique property plant arrangements are deliberate
• Nursery or greenhouse experience

About the role

Running a small in-house nursery for a Los Cabos boutique resort is one of the most technically interesting landscaping roles in the region. Propagating agave offsets, rooting cactus pads, dividing succulent rosettes — the nursery feeds the property with plants that are already acclimated to the local soil and microclimate, and the technician who develops that stock is reducing costs and improving plant survival rates simultaneously.
