Hotel Patio & Garden Specialist — Colonial Boutique Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain colonial hotel patio garden: potted bougainvillea, plumeria, and tropical plants in terracotta containers; central fuente surroundings; shaded fern and bromeliad areas
• Manage seasonal plants aligned with Oaxacan cultural calendar: marigolds and cempasúchil for Día de Muertos, poinsettias for December holidays, regional flowering plants for Guelaguetza season
• Care for climbing plants on colonial walls: bougainvillea training, jasmine and passion flower management, keeping wall plants tidy without excessive trimming that would remove the natural beauty guests come to photograph
• Maintain rooftop terrace plants where applicable: container cacti, agave, and succulent arrangements common in Oaxacan boutique hotel rooftop spaces
• Manage dry-season watering: Oaxaca's October–April dry period requires reliable irrigation of container plants; courtyard gardens are often entirely pot-fed and cannot rely on rainfall
• Coordinate plant sourcing from Oaxacan markets and nurseries: the Mercado de Jamaica equivalent local nurseries in Etla area supply fresh seasonal plants throughout the year

Requirements

• Container plant care and courtyard garden management
• Oaxacan plant species knowledge preferred — or interest in developing regional botanical knowledge
• Cultural calendar awareness for seasonal plant programming
• Reliable daily watering schedule management in dry season
