Botanical Garden Specialist — Hillside Boutique Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain boutique hotel botanical garden: curated collection of native Jalisco coastal tropicals, rare gingers, orchids, and flowering tropical trees
• Manage the hillside planting on steep terrain — slope stabilization plantings, terraced beds, water runoff management during heavy wet-season rain
• Maintain garden signage and plant identification labels for guest walking path
• Coordinate with property owner on garden development: new specimens, additions, plant sources from botanical gardens or specialty nurseries
• Conduct wet-season storm assessments: check terrace wall integrity, erosion of hillside planting areas, drainage functionality after heavy rain
• Apply targeted pest control for orchid and bromeliad collections — epiphytic plants on the hillside are susceptible to specific fungal issues in PV's humid conditions

Requirements

• Botanical or horticultural knowledge of tropical plants — orchid and bromeliad care experience preferred
• Physical ability for hillside terrain work
• Slope gardening and erosion management awareness
• Plant identification skills for labeled garden collection
