Senior Landscaper / Grounds Lead — Resort Complex

Responsibilities

• Lead resort grounds team: coordinate 3–5 gardeners across zones, manage daily and weekly maintenance schedules
• Plan seasonal programs: dry-season irrigation intensification, wet-season fungal and mold management, hurricane preparation and post-storm recovery
• Manage plant procurement from local Jalisco nurseries and regional suppliers for Vallarta
• Oversee chemical input program: fertilizer schedules, pest control applications, herbicide use in non-guest areas per STPS safety regulations
• Coordinate with hotel maintenance on any irrigation infrastructure work
• Prepare for high-occupancy periods: December–April brings maximum guest volume; landscape must be at peak presentation for winter peak season

Requirements

• 3+ years hotel landscaping with team lead experience
• Tropical landscape management knowledge specific to Jalisco / Banderas Bay climate
• Hurricane preparation and recovery experience
• Supervisory communication skills

About the role

Leading a grounds team through Puerto Vallarta's seasons means preparing for maximum presentation in December when the winter peak begins — knowing that the wet season from June to October was the investment phase, that the pruning and the replanting and the fertilizer applications made in August are what the resort will show in January. Seasonal landscape thinking is the difference between a grounds lead and a daily gardener.
