Villa Garden Caretaker — Boutique Villa Collection

Responsibilities

• Maintain individual villa garden areas: each villa has private planting beds, terrace container plants, and outdoor living space landscaping
• Water and fertilize indoor tropical plants in guest villas: potted palms, bromeliads, and monstera — presented as part of villa design
• Maintain hammock and day-bed areas: clear fallen leaves and debris, ensure ground cover beneath structures is maintained
• Care for resort restaurant garden: herbs (cilantro, epazote, hierba santa) and edible flowers grown on-site for kitchen use
• Coordinate plant replacement when guest-facing plants are not presentable — high turnover of flowering plants in villa common areas
• Maintain paths between villas: natural surface paths using local materials (white gravel, coconut shells, natural stepping stones)

Requirements

• Indoor plant care experience — villa-standard presentation of potted tropicals
• Kitchen herb garden management
• Detail-oriented for villa-level presentation standards
• Familiarity with natural-materials path maintenance

Managing the kitchen herb garden and the potted palms and the bougainvillea around the villa terrace at a Tulum boutique property is garden work that sits at the intersection of food, design, and hospitality. When the epazote from the garden shows up in the tacos al pastor at dinner, and the monstera in the villa was watered and shining this morning, the gardener's work has become part of the guest experience in a very direct way.
