Grounds & Landscape Supervisor — Resort Complex

Responsibilities

• Lead resort grounds team: supervise 4–8 gardeners, cenote-area caretakers, and irrigation technicians; coordinate daily and weekly task assignments across all landscape zones
• Manage cenote-adjacent landscape compliance: enforce chemical-restriction protocols within 50 meters of cenotes and open water bodies; document compliance for eco-certification audits
• Develop and implement IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program: reduce chemical inputs through biological controls, companion planting, and targeted application — required standard at eco-certified properties
• Lead wet-season operational planning: manage aggressive tropical growth during June–October; direct fungal and mold prevention programs; oversee drainage maintenance before peak rain events
• Coordinate native plant restoration program: manage replanting of native Quintana Roo coastal species in disturbed areas; work with certification body on native species documentation
• Maintain landscape budget: track plant procurement, chemical inputs, and contracted services; report monthly to hotel director of operations
• Train gardening team on cenote ecosystem sensitivity, chemical protocols, and native species identification

Requirements

• 4+ years resort landscaping with team supervision experience
• SEMARNAT coastal zone and cenote-adjacent regulation knowledge
• IPM program management and eco-certification landscape requirements
• Team training ability on environmental compliance protocols
• Budget management at department level
