Maintenance Technician — Boutique Colonial Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain a converted colonial property — original architecture means hidden plumbing, embedded electrical, and construction materials from multiple eras
• Handle all plumbing, electrical, and furniture maintenance while respecting the building's historical character
• Work with lime plasters, cantera stone, and original tile finishes — repair techniques require material-specific knowledge
• Manage the property's seismic vulnerability plan — older colonial structures have specific inspection requirements after seismic events
• Maintain period-appropriate fixtures, antique-style hardware, and decorative metalwork
• Coordinate with INAH-aware restoration contractors when structural work affects protected heritage elements

Requirements

• Experience in colonial, historic, or converted property maintenance
• Knowledge of traditional building materials: adobe, cantera, lime plaster, talavera tile
• Sensitivity to heritage property constraints — not everything can be fixed with modern methods and materials
• Patience and craft sensibility suited to detailed restoration-quality repairs
