Central Plant Technician — Chiller & AHU Systems

Large resort with central chilled water plant, Punta Cancún

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain central chilled water plant: centrifugal or screw chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps, chemical treatment system
  • Monitor chiller performance via BMS: approach temperatures, efficiency curves, refrigerant pressures — identify performance degradation early
  • Manage cooling tower chemical treatment program: biocide dosing, scale inhibitor, pH management
  • Coordinate with chiller manufacturer service teams for annual maintenance and warranty work
  • Maintain air handling units throughout the resort: filter replacement, coil cleaning, damper operation, belt tension
  • Manage refrigerant log in compliance with SEMARNAT refrigerant handling regulations

Requirements

  • Advanced HVAC training with centrifugal or screw chiller experience
  • EC0152 certification — mandatory
  • BMS monitoring experience for chilled water plant management
  • Minimum 4 years HVAC maintenance with plant operations experience
