HVAC Technician — Convention & Business Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC across a convention hotel with extensive event facilities: guest rooms, ballrooms, pre-function areas, meeting rooms, restaurants
• Service precision climate control in conference and ballroom spaces — large event gatherings generate significant body heat load; HVAC must compensate without creating uncomfortable drafts
• Manage summer rainfall season HVAC — Guadalajara's July–September storms create outdoor temperature drops that require rapid system response to maintain indoor comfort
• Maintain commercial kitchen HVAC: exhaust hood systems, make-up air units, kitchen cooling
• Service all refrigeration across multiple dining outlets with EC0152 compliant refrigerant management
• Coordinate with event operations on HVAC pre-setting for large convention arrivals

Requirements

• HVAC experience; convention or event venue environment preferred
• EC0152 certification
• Conference space climate control experience
• Flexible availability during convention peak periods

About the role

Convention hall HVAC is load management at its most variable. A ballroom with zero occupancy requires minimal cooling. Fill it with 800 people for a conference lunch and the load changes in 90 minutes. The HVAC technician who understands that load curve — who has pre-set the system for the arriving load rather than chasing the temperature up after the room fills — is delivering comfort that event guests associate with the hotel rather than the HVAC department.
