Central Plant HVAC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain central chilled water plant under extreme desert ambient conditions — Los Cabos chiller plants must maintain cooling tower performance at 45°C+ wet-bulb-challenged ambient temperatures
• Manage high-efficiency centrifugal or screw chiller operation with performance monitoring via BMS
• Oversee cooling tower chemical treatment with emphasis on concentration control in Los Cabos' highly evaporative desert climate — water consumption and chemical treatment costs are significant
• Lead a team of 1–2 support HVAC technicians
• Coordinate with chiller manufacturer (Trane, Carrier, York common in Los Cabos) on annual maintenance contracts and warranty compliance
• Report monthly on chiller performance, energy efficiency (kW/ton), and chemical treatment to engineering management

Requirements

• Advanced HVAC training with centrifugal chiller operation experience
• EC0152 certification
• Cooling tower water chemistry management
• Team leadership experience
• Minimum 5 years HVAC with 2 years in plant operations
