HVAC Technician — Eco & Boutique Properties

Responsibilities

• Service HVAC in eco properties that use selective cooling — not all rooms are air conditioned; ceiling fans, cross-ventilation, and strategic mini-splits in bedrooms only
• Maintain mini-split units in boutique eco properties: standard PM service plus attention to outdoor unit placement in jungle environments (leaf and debris accumulation on condensers)
• Service the refrigeration needs of eco property kitchens: smaller commercial refrigeration portfolio than large resorts, but requiring the same systematic care
• Maintain evaporative cooling or hybrid cooling systems where eco properties use them to reduce conventional AC load
• Build and document PM schedule for each eco property's specific AC configuration
• Travel between multiple eco boutique properties on the corridor

Requirements

• HVAC maintenance experience; eco or sustainable building environment exposure useful
• Mini-split maintenance competency; EC0152 certification
• Mobile and organized for multi-property schedule management
• Genuine interest in sustainable hospitality approaches

About the role

Eco properties have a different relationship with air conditioning than conventional hotels — cooling is used deliberately, not universally. The HVAC technician who understands and respects that philosophy, who maintains the selective cooling systems efficiently so the property can deliver comfort in the rooms that need it while maintaining its sustainability credentials, is a partner in the property's mission rather than just a maintenance contractor.
