HVAC Technician — Large All-Inclusive

Responsibilities

• Maintain fan coil and split-system HVAC across a large resort: guest rooms, restaurants, bars, lobby, entertainment venues
• Execute hurricane season HVAC preparation: unit shutdown procedures, outdoor unit tie-down or removal protocols, post-storm assessment checklist
• Manage refrigerant handling per EC0152 with complete documentation
• Perform seasonal PM schedule adjustment — summer heat and humidity increase PM frequency requirements
• Respond to AC emergency calls during shift
• Coordinate with engineering team on HVAC system upgrades during low-season renovation windows

Requirements

• HVAC maintenance experience; large resort or all-inclusive background preferred
• EC0152 certification
• Hurricane season HVAC procedures knowledge
• Rotating shift flexibility

Hurricane season HVAC preparation in Puerto Vallarta is a discipline in itself. Securing outdoor condensers, shutting down systems in storm sequence, and bringing the resort back to full cooling capacity within hours of a storm passing — all while managing a property full of guests — requires planning and execution skill that goes well beyond standard HVAC maintenance.
