Refrigeration & Cooling Specialist — Kitchen & Bar

Responsibilities

• Maintain all commercial refrigeration for a beach club and restaurant: walk-in units, bar bottle coolers, ice machines, display refrigeration
• Service bar ice machines daily for hygiene and maximum output capacity — beach club ice demand is extremely high in Tulum's heat
• Maintain any minimal AC in staff areas and kitchen
• Manage coastal condenser cleaning schedule — Tulum's beachfront salt air fouls condenser coils rapidly
• Handle refrigerant management per EC0152 with documentation
• Respond immediately to refrigeration failures — beach club cold chain operates without backup redundancy in most small properties

Requirements

• Commercial refrigeration experience — ice machines, bar coolers, walk-in units
• EC0152 certification
• Coastal condenser maintenance awareness
• Immediate cold chain failure response competency

About the role

A Tulum beach club in July serves cold drinks to hundreds of guests under the Caribbean sun. The ice machine that runs at full output, the bar coolers that hold temperature in 38-degree ambient heat, the walk-in that protects the fresh seafood menu — all of this depends entirely on the refrigeration technician. When it runs perfectly, no one notices. When it doesn't, the whole operation feels it.
