Painter & Carpenter — Colonial Boutique Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain colonial hotel paint finishes: period colors (terracotta, sienna, colonial gold, warm white) applied in lime-compatible systems appropriate to masonry construction
• Restore and maintain wooden elements: hand-carved doors, colonial window frames, wooden ceilings and vigas, antique-style furniture
• Care for carved cantera stone details where accessible: cleaning, joint maintenance, protective sealant on carved elements
• Execute cold-season interior refresh during low-occupancy months (January–February) — San Miguel's interior painting season is planned around guest occupancy
• Support event setup carpentry for wedding season: temporary wooden structures, stage platforms, decorative archways for outdoor ceremonies
• Coordinate with ownership or interior designer on color palette and finish decisions — San Miguel owners are typically highly design-engaged

Requirements

• Painting experience in colonial or heritage buildings; period color palette knowledge
• Fine carpentry for colonial-style wooden elements
• Aesthetic sensitivity appropriate to a UNESCO heritage city
• Event carpentry experience for wedding season support

San Miguel is one of the most photographed cities in Mexico — and the images that drive its tourism are almost always of its painted colonial facades and carved stone details. The painter-carpenter who maintains the hotel building that appears in those photographs is contributing to the city's entire visual identity.
