Painter & Carpenter — Eco-Luxury Finishes

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair lime-wash and natural plaster wall finishes: matching existing patina, proper lime paint preparation and layering technique, understanding drying and curing behavior
• Repair and maintain reclaimed wood elements: floors, beams, wall cladding, furniture — surface treatment without masking the aged character of the material
• Service bamboo structures: joint maintenance, surface treatment against splitting and insect damage
• Apply and maintain natural oil and wax finishes on teak and tropical hardwood furniture
• Handle bespoke carpentry repairs on custom-built furniture unique to each eco property
• Coordinate with property design team on finish restoration approach — Tulum ownership is typically highly design-involved

Requirements

• Painting and carpentry experience; natural materials and eco-property finish experience essential
• Lime paint application knowledge — not negotiable for Tulum eco properties
• Sensitivity to material character — Tulum finishes are meant to look natural and imperfect; over-finishing is as wrong as under-maintaining
• Creative problem-solving for custom-built unique furniture repairs
