About the role
The hacienda cisterns of the Yucatán are engineering achievements from the 19th century that still work today — gravity-fed water storage systems built from limestone block that have outlasted everything built around them. The plumber who maintains that original infrastructure alongside modern hotel plumbing is working at the intersection of heritage and function that defines Yucatán hospitality.
