Pool & Natural Water Technician — Eco-Luxury Hotel

Responsibilities

• Maintain cenote pool as primary natural water feature: daily visual inspection, debris removal, water clarity monitoring, access infrastructure safety checks
• Manage natural biological pool (where installed): aquatic plant health, beneficial microorganism balance, debris management, flow through gravel filtration beds
• Maintain conventional plunge pools in villa suites: standard chemical dosing, filtration, daily cleaning — high-standard luxury finish required despite small pool sizes
• Monitor all water systems for visual quality standards expected by eco-luxury guests — water must be pristine naturally, not artificially blue
• Coordinate with sustainability manager on any water treatment approaches and environmental documentation
• Maintain cenote access safety infrastructure: entry points, underwater lighting, rope lines, safety signage

Requirements

• Pool maintenance experience; natural water environment experience strongly preferred
• Genuine understanding of ecological water management vs. chemical water management
• Environmental sensitivity appropriate to cenote-adjacent protected natural areas
• Physical fitness for diving maintenance inspection in natural water environments

The pool technician who maintains access to these systems for guests — who keeps them safe and accessible while leaving their ecology undisturbed — is doing something that requires more ecological awareness than chemical knowledge. That's a rare skill, and Tulum is one of the only places in the world that needs it.
