MICE & Events Sales Coordinator

Hotel with event facilities, Guadalajara

Guadalajara

MXN 14,000 – 20,000 / monthFull-time, permanent

Fixed monthly + commission on confirmed meetings and events

Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound MICE and corporate event inquiries at a Guadalajara hotel: respond to meeting space RFPs, prepare proposals for corporate meetings (10–150 participants), training programs, product launches, and association events that use the hotel's conference facilities
  • Develop the Guadalajara corporate meeting market: the Tapatio business community hosts frequent corporate training, leadership meetings, and product launches in Guadalajara's hotel meeting facilities — the coordinator prospects this market through the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, industrial association networks, and direct corporate outreach
  • Coordinate the domestic incentive group market: Mexican companies from CDMX, Monterrey, and Guadalajara itself organize domestic incentive programs and team-building events that use Guadalajara's cultural assets (Tequila Valley, Tlaquepaque artisan market) as program activities — the coordinator packages and sells these programs
  • Handle the catering and F&B coordination for confirmed corporate events: the Guadalajara hotel corporate event includes food and beverage management — the coordinator works with the culinary team on menu design, dietary requirement management, and the Jalisco culinary elements (birria, birria tacos, tejate, mezcal tasting) that distinguish a Guadalajara event
  • Manage the event contract and production coordination through to execution: from signed contract to event day, the coordinator is the internal advocate for the event's requirements across all hotel departments
  • Report monthly on MICE production against target to the Director of Sales

Work environment

MICE and events sales coordinator at a Guadalajara hotel. Corporate meeting market development, domestic incentive group sales, and Jalisco cultural experience-integrated event programming for the Tapatío business community.

About the role

The Guadalajara MICE coordinator who wins a corporate training program from a Zapopan technology company — who in the proposal included a Thursday evening Tequila Valley dinner at an artisanal family distillery as the program's social event — who at the event manages a group of 35 engineers from India, the US, and Mexico discovering that the blue agave plants in the field they're standing in take 8 years to mature before a single batch of tequila can be produced — and who receives a 5-star event review that mentions the distillery evening specifically as "the best evening of the entire training year" — has done the events coordinator's highest function: sold a meeting space and delivered a cultural experience that made the meeting memorable. The training content is forgotten in a year. The agave field is not.
